Our comprehensive care at the Diabetes Care Center includes

Patient Education

Our medical staff can provide assistance to our patients requiring help with their diabetes. We have educational units at flexible times to fit your schedule that usually are, in part, covered by insurance. The education will cover the A to Z’s of diabetes care and prepare you for dealing with diabetes self-care. Depending on your diabetic situation, the modules will cover basic diabetes management, healthy eating, carb counting, instructions for insulin injections and blood glucose testing.

Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)

CGM is a very advanced method of evaluating glucose control by painlessly measuring glucose levels (288/d) under the skin for several days. We have pioneered this method since 1999. From this information we can better understand what we need to do. Your healthcare provider will adjust your therapy to achieve the best possible control.

Gestational Diabetes

Gestational diabetes starts when your body is not able to produce and use all of the insulin it needs for pregnancy. We will provide you with information and guidance that you need to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. The medical staff at Diabetes Care Center will treat and monitor your diabetes throughout your pregnancy.

Insulin Pump Therapy

Insulin pump therapy can help better manage the need for insulin dose adjustments. The clinical benefits include better A1c control and fewer hypoglycemic events. It provides for easier dosing, greater flexibility and depending on the model you use, it may be more convenient.

Hemoglobin A1c and Blood Lipid Screening

These internal labs are provided at the time of your visit. From a small drop of blood from your finger, the results from the test are complete within a few minutes during your visit. These screenings help us monitor your cholesterol levels and your average blood glucose.

Insulin Treatment Assessment

If you are experiencing uncontrolled diabetes despite insulin treatment, you may be considered for an Insulin Treatment Assessment. We will review your blood glucose monitoring, nutrition & activity log, injection techniques and proper insulin storage. We’ll evaluate your current dosing using our methods for assessing basal & bolus dosing needs. If necessary, we will use the latest continuous glucose monitoring system to assess and treat poor glucose control.
